We had originally planned to take it easy and not go on a long hike in the beating sun up to the rim, but curiosity got the better of us, and we got off the bus on the way back to the campsite at the head of the trail up to the eastern rim. At this point it felt like we were halfway up, but it soon transpired that we had ... a ways more to go.   (13/106)
