After truckin' along on I-70 for a while, we came up on the San Rafael reef (used to be a reef back when this place was a big ocean). Apparently Marie Curie visited once because the place has some radioactive stuff around (I could have that totally wrong...). It was amazingly cool. Unfortunately we didn't stop inside (I regretted that decision pretty quickly). This is a view of the reef before we entered, taken from another rest stop. BTW, we're now in Utah. You can tell because the vegetation is scrappy. Endless miles of scrappy vegetation, canyons, mesas, and heat give a pretty surreal effect. (8/22)
