[Note: I did the panoramic stitching with hugin which was surprisingly easy, and seems to do a pretty good job, at least by the standards of a complete amateur.]

USOF Convention (mostly Trail-O at Garden of the Gods). I squeaked out a victory over Sharon (3 second margin).
Pike's Peak Catherine and I stayed in Pike National Forest after the orienteering was over, and drove up Pike's Peak the next day. I have a fear of heights.
Utah We stayed another night in Pike National Forest and drove out the next day, crossing the Rockies and beginning the downhill run to California. These are some pictures I took on our way to Zion National Park.
Zion NP We drove into Zion in the evening and stayed the next day and night, leaving the following morning. While we were there, we hiked up to the rim, which took the better part of a hot day, but it was totally worth it. The canyon wildlife and flora change as you get higher and higher, and the views are truly stunning.
Santa Barbara Finally a couple of lousy photos of Catherine and I as we prepare to eat dinner for the first time in her new apartment. I didn't take many pictures in SB, but I should say a few words about the 4 days or so I spent there. It rained ash. California is really a very different place from the Eastern US, or really anywhere else I've been. I guess that's why you travel places - to see new things.
